St. Joe's Places Sixth at Husky Invitational

GRAY, Maine – Saint Joseph's College placed sixth with a 330 (+46) team card in the USM Husky Invitational at Spring Meadows Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.

With three players in the top six – including Medalist Trevor Flanagan, who shot a 74 (+3) – University of New England claimed the tourney title with a 308 score. Thomas College posted a 315 card to place second, Maine Maritime finished third (321), Southern Maine placed fourth (322), Husson University was fifth (326), and UMaine-Farmington finished seventh (349) behind St. Joe's.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Junior Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) posted a 78 and tied for eighth
  • Freshman Caleb Campos (Port Charlotte, Fla.) tied for 17th (83)
  • Sophomore Nick DeLeo (Saco, Maine) placed 21st (84)
  • Freshman Braden Camire (Saco, Maine) tied for 22nd (85)
  • Junior Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) scored an 89 and finished 28th

Saint Joseph's will compete in the UNE Invitational at the Cape Arundel Golf Club tomorrow.
