Golf Places Seventh in Husson Invitational

ORONO, ME - The Saint Joseph's Golf team placed seventh in the Husson University Invitational with a 368 score at the Penobscot Valley Country Club on Tuesday. Steve Sands '10 (Westbrook, ME) finished in a tie for fourth after carding an 80 on the day.

Husson University won the event with a score of 305 and the top four finishers overall. Mike Hersey won a playoff with teammates Ben Estabrook and Matt Loubier to claim medalist honors.

University of Maine-Farmington (324), Southern Maine (333), Thomas College (349) and Maine Maritime (366) all preceded Saint Joseph's, while EMCC (375) finished behind the Monks in the competition.

Matt Cotreau '10 (Lunenberg, MA) recorded the second-lowest score for the Monks and carded an 88 in the event.

St. Joe's will next play in the NEIGA Championship on October 19th and 20th at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA.
