SJC Golf Team Finishes 9th at Maine Championship
VASSALBORO, ME - The St. Joe's Golf team carded a collective
score of 710 to place 9th in the State of Maine Intercollegiate
Championship held at Natanis Golf Course. Mike
Lavoie '10 (Lewiston, ME) registered a 167 (87-80)
to lead the Monks in the two-day event.
Husson University posted a 619 team score to win the championship
for the fourth straight season. The Eagles collected the top three
individual spots with Kevin Byrne earning medalist honors after
carding a 149, including a three-under par 69 on Saturday.
Southern Maine (658), Bowdoin (659), Colby (660), Bates (662), UNE
(667), Maine-Farmington (675) and Thomas (699) finished ahead of
the Monks with SMCC (727) rounding out the field.
T.J. Garske '12 (Federal Way, WA) carded a 176 and
Matt Cotreau '10 (Lunenberg, MA)
shot a 177 for the Monks.
Saint Joseph's will begin participation in the two-day Southern
Maine Fall Classic, held at the Sable Oaks Golf Course in South
Portland, on Sunday at 11:00 PM.
