Husson Clinches Fourth Consecutive Queenan Memorial Title

CASCO, ME - Husson University carded a team score of 310 to capture the John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament crown for the fourth consecutive year at the Point Sebago Golf Resort on Tuesday. Four Eagles placed in the top five, including Kevin Byrne '11 (Winslow, ME), who captured medalist honors with a one-over-par 73 effort.

The battle for second place proved to be much more interesting, as four teams finished within two strokes. University of Maine-Farmington carded a 340 team score to finish second, while University of New England (341), University of Southern Maine (342) and Thomas (342) were close behind. Host-team Saint Joseph's placed sixth with a 353 team score.

For Husson, Mike Hersey '12 (Presque Isle, ME) (76), Matt Loubier '12 (Winslow, ME) (80), and Brian Estabrook '10 (Bangor, ME) (81) finished in the top five overall. Steve Falco '10 (Dryden, ME) of Thomas College posted a 78 to finish fourth in the event.

Nathan Fairfield '10 (Bath, ME) was the top golfer for UNE with 81 strokes, Reid Bond '11 (Farmington, ME) scored an 84 to lead all University of Maine-Farmington participants, and Brian Moskevick '12 (Buxton, ME) carded an 82 to pace Southern Maine. Matt Cotreau '10 (Lunenberg, MA) led the host Monks with an 85 on the day.
