BREWSTER, MA – The SJC Golf team is in 34th place with a 353 team card after the first 18 holes of the 76th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship.
University of Rhode Island leads the pack of 37 NCAA DI, DII and DIII New England Institutions with a +9 297, while Husson University ranks as the DIII leader with a 308 team card after the first day of action.
John Kelly (URI) and Brian Hughes (UConn) are tied for the top individual score after shooting a one-under-par 71, while Jay Driscoll (Trinity) is the top DIII participant with a 74 card. Husson's Chris Hamel shot a 75 at The Captains Golf Course on Monday and is in 10th place going into the final day.
Kevin Richardson '14 (Coventry, CT) leads the Monks with an 86 and currently sits in 132nd place.
The tournament concludes tomorrow, with tee-time set for 7:45 AM.
