Caron Collects Second Consecutive GNAC Weekly Honor

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's sophomore Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Golfer of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period.

Caron began the week by posting a co-medalist performance with a 75 card in the Maine-Farmington Invitational on Thursday and capped the week with a fourth place finish and a 147 (71-76) effort in the Maine State Intercollegiate Championship over the weekend. Caron's score in the Maine Championship is the lowest ever recorded by a Monks golfer in the annual event.

Caron, who earned three GNAC Rookie of the Week awards last fall, is the first Saint Joseph's golfer to claim back to back GNAC Golfer of the Week honors in eight years as a member of the conference.

Saint Joseph's is off until next Sunday when the Monks compete in the Thomas Golf Classic at the Waterville Country Club.
