Monks Win Thomas College Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine – Saint Joseph's College won the Thomas College Invitational with a 297 team score at the Waterville Country Club on Sunday. Junior Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) paced the Monks and claimed the first Medalist honor of his career with a 69 card.

Senior Brandon Labrecque (Gorham, Maine) and juniors Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) and Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) all turned in 76 cards (career best for Labrecque) while freshman Brendan Donovan (Auburn, Maine) rounded out the Monks' quintet with a 78 score.

With all four scorers posting a 76 or better, Saint Joseph's cruised to the team's first win of the season with University of New England finishing second with a 310 card. Southern Maine (311) and UMaine-Farmington (311) tied for third while Thomas (327), Colby College (341), and UMaine-Presque Isle (449) also competed in the event.

Saint Joseph's returns to the course Tuesday when the team plays in the University of New England Invitational at the Cape Arundel Country Club.
