STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Golfer of the Week for the second-consecutive reporting period.
The senior had two medalist efforts this past week as the Monks competed in three events. On Thursday, Flanagan tied for sixth at the USM Cup Scramble with teammate Alex Beecher. On Friday afternoon, he earned medalist honors with a +4 73 (38-35) card to help the Monks secure a third-place finish in the UNE Invitational at the Cape Arundel Golf Club. At the two-day USM Fall Classic on Sunday-Monday, he again earned medalist honors for the second time in four days, carding a +6 150 (76-74.)
For Flanagan, the weekly GNAC honor is the sixth of his career, which includes two GNAC Rookie of the Week honors. He earned his last top golfer honor on September 19th, 2022.
With Flanagan's second honor, the Monks have claimed GNAC Golfer of the Week awards in four of five reporting periods so far this fall. Sophomore Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) has also earned a pair of Golfer of the Week accolades.
Saint Joseph's will host the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at the Biddeford-Saco Country Club next Monday and Tuesday.
