NEWTON, MA - Saint Joseph's College (14-15, 3-7 GNAC) lost both ends of a conference tri-match on Saturday, falling 3-0 to both Norwich (16-10, 6-5) and Mount Ida (16-9, 8-4). Sarah Hawkes '13 (Pownal, ME) recorded 24 kills, 13 digs, 7 total blocks and a .320 hitting percentage for the day.

The Cadets topped the Monks, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-21 in the 2:00 PM matchup. Hawkes led the Monks' efforts with 14 kills and Kiah Begley '13 (Berwick, ME/St. Thomas Aquinas) dealt 17 assists in the loss. With her 13^th helper, Begley became the first SJC volleyball player in the last 10 years to reach the 600-assist plateau in a single season.

St. Joe's battled Mount Ida and lost a pair of close matches, 25-22 & 25-22, before relenting in the final match 25-17. Hawkes recorded 10 kills and 8 digs in the loss and Caitlin Cleary '13 (Scarborough, ME) added 5 kills and 6 digs. Begley chipped in with 16 assists for the Royal Blue.

Saint Joseph's will play at University of New England on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
