Monks Fall to Bobcats, 3-0

STANDISH, ME - St. Joe's (12-9, 3-3 GNAC) lost to Bates College (9-4), 3-0, in a non-conference volleyball match at the Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday evening. Kiah Begley '13 (Berwick, ME/St. Thomas Aquinas) recorded nine assists in the losing effort.

Avery Masters '10 (Mill Valley, CA) posted a match-high 11 kills for Bates and teammate Nicole Russell '13 (Boca Raton, FL) collected 15 digs in the victory.

Sarah Hawkes '13 (Pownal, ME) had four kills and four digs and Caitlin Cleary '13 (Scarborough, ME) notched six digs for the Monks.

Saint Joseph's is set to take on Daniel Webster College in a non-conference match on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 PM. All SJC followers are encouraged to attend and help the Monks Volleyball program break the match attendance record (200 fans). Prizes will be given out and contests will be held during the match and, if a new record is set, all fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt.
