STANDISH, ME – SJC volleyball freshman Emilee Penman (Uncasville, Conn./Montville) has been tabbed as the GNAC Volleyball Co-Rookie of the Week.
Penman, an outside hitter for the Monks, contributed 24 kills and a .258 hitting percentage in a 3-1 week for Saint Joseph's. She shares the first weekly honor of her young career with Emerson's Kat Rice (Delmar, N.Y.).
Through 15 games, Penman is tied for second on the team in both kills (88) and solo blocks (11) and also ranks third in attacks (298) and hitting percentage (.121).
Penman garnered GNAC Honor Roll mention on two occasions earlier this season.
Saint Joseph's will host University of Southern Maine (0-10, 0-2 LEC) on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
