Wachowiak Named ECAC New England Co-Player of the Week

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College sophomore middle blocker Felicia Wachowiak (Milton, N.H.) has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) NCAA DIII New England Women's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week. Wachowiak shares the honor with Callie Dolan of Endicott College.

In the midst of an impressive sophomore season, Wachowiak has been nearly unstoppable of late as evidenced by her statistics in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match sweep on Saturday, when she registered 25 kills and a .595 attack percentage in shutout victories over Albertus Magnus College and University of Saint Joseph. She was flawless versus the Falcons with 13 kills and no miscues in 17 attempts in the opener and closed the day with 12 kills against the Blue Jays. For the week, Wachowiak tallied 32 kills and 15 total blocks, with 13 solo rejections and a pair of assists.

The second-year starter currently leads the Monks in kills (151), kills per set (2.96), attack percentage (.270), block solos (50) and total blocks (59). She is the first Saint Joseph's College volleyball player to claim an ECAC weekly honor.

Saint Joseph's College (13-2, 4-0 GNAC) will play at Babson College at 7:30 PM on Thursday evening.
