Wachowiak Collects GNAC Defensive Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and junior middle blocker Felicia Wachowiak (Milton, N.H.) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Wachowiak tallied 19 total blocks with 13 solos and six assists over three matches last week. The junior middle blocker posted three solos and three assists in a loss to Gordon on Tuesday and capped the week with six solos and an assist in a 3-0 win over Mount Ida on Saturday.

The honor marks the second-consecutive week that a Saint Joseph's player has earned the weekly honor for defensive excellence, as junior libero Abbie McPhee (Epping, N.H.) claimed the same award last week.

Through nine matches for the 4-5 Monks, Wachowiak has tallied team-highs in kills (76), block solos (31) and block assists (9). The defensive Player of the Week honor is Wachowiak's second and counts as the eighth GNAC weekly accolade of her career.

Saint Joseph's returns to the court with a match at Plymouth State University on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
