Monks Top Suffolk, Fall to Framingham State

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (14-13, 6-4 GNAC) split a women's volleyball tri-match at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday afternoon. The Monks opened with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-18) win over Suffolk University (12-12, 5-5 GNAC) and closed with a 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 16-25, 8-25) defeat at the hands of Framingham State University (12-16, 4-2 MASCAC).

Framingham State defeated Suffolk, 3-0, in the middle match.

SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, SUFFOLK 0

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Senior Jordynne Copp (Cumberland, Maine) posted a spectacular .478 attack rate with 12 kills and one error in 23 attempts
  • Sophomore Kelsey Bickford (Somersworth, N.H.) added eight kills and five digs
  • Freshman Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) produced seven kills
  • Junior Sarah Dyer (Seabrook, N.H.) notched a double-double with 30 assists and 11 digs
  • Junior Jennelle Thompson (Farmington, N.H.) chipped in with 22 digs

LEADERS – SUFFOLK:

  • Hannah Fabiano registered nine kills, three aces, and 15 digs
  • Kayla Barbera delivered eight kills with five digs
  • Talia Lombardo contributed 22 assists and eight digs

FRAMINGHAM STATE 3, SAINT JOSEPH'S 1

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Copp tallied a career-high 18 kills with four block solos
  • Bickford recorded 15 kills with nine digs
  • Olson posted eight kills
  • Freshman Sophia Randall (Epping, N.H.) put up 29 assists and five digs
  • Thompson added 25 digs

LEADERS – FRAMINGHAM STATE:

  • Kelly Brinkman drove home 14 kills
  • Brandey Rodriguez added 10 kills on 22 attempts for a .455 attack rate
  • Deirdre Fay notched eight kills and 12 digs
  • Mackenzie Whalen contributed 35 assists, three aces, and 14 digs
  • Victoria Anderson picked up a team-high 18 digs
