Monks Fall to Pride, Blue Jays in GNAC Tri-Match

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Saint Joseph's College (7-16, 4-4 GNAC) suffered a pair of losses at the hands of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents on Saturday afternoon. The Monks opened the day with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 26-24) setback at the hands of Regis College (17-5, 9-2 GNAC) and dropped a hard-fought match to tri-match host University of Saint Joseph (5-11, 1-8 GNAC), 3-2 (20-25, 25-14, 25-20, 23-25, 16-14) in the nightcap.

REGIS 3, SAINT JOSEPH'S 0:

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Senior Sarah Quinn (Dover, N.H.) posted six kills, three digs, and a pair of total blocks
  • Senior Olivia Kent (Ellington, Conn.) added five kills and two digs
  • Junior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) chipped in with three kills, 12 assists, and six digs
  • Freshman Sierra Burns (Peyton, Colo.) notched nine digs
  • Sophomore Kailyn Chamberlin (Milford, N.H.) contributed with seven digs and a pair of assists

LEADERS – REGIS:

  • Kamdyn Tenorio delivered nine kills and seven digs
  • Emily Fagundo recorded 19 assists
  • Valerie Whalen added six kills and three block assists

  • Senior Nicole Baron (Derry, N.H.) posted a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs
  • Freshman Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) registered 14 kills, four digs, and six block assists
  • Quinn produced nine kills and 14 digs
  • Kent added nine kills and seven digs with two service aces
  • Junior Isabel Philbrick (Milford, N.H.) tallied six kills and four block assists
  • Holden delivered 36 assists and 11 digs
  • Burns contributed 20 digs
  • Junior Amanda Darby (Shrewsbury, Mass.) chipped in with 12 assists and three aces

  • Shannon Carey led all players with 23 kills and added three aces with nine digs
  • Hannah Benson posted 11 kills and 13 digs
  • Fernanda Ayala Rodriguez tallied 30 assists, seven aces, and 19 digs
  • Julia McKenzie notched 28 digs
  • Nicole Albert added 19 assists and six digs
