STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (11-15, 5-4 GNAC) rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Colby-Sawyer College (8-14, 4-5 GNAC), 3-1 (16-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23), in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball match at Mike McDevitt Court on Wednesday night.
TEAM STATS:
Saint Joseph's held the lead in kills (52-41), attack percentage (.175-.122) and assists (46-40) while Colby-Sawyer held the edge in service aces (7-5) and total blocks (8-2) in the four-set match. Both teams posted 69 kills on the evening.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Senior Isabel Philbrick (Milford, N.H.) belted 12 kills with one error in 24 attempts for a stellar .458 attack percentage
- Sophomore Maggie Sylvester (Barrington, N.H.) delivered 11 kills and seven digs
- Senior Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) posted eight kills, 25 assists, two aces, and 11 digs
- Freshman Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) added seven kills and 13 digs
- Sophomore Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) contributed eight kills and nine digs
- Senior Amanda Darby (Shrewsbury, Mass.) chipped in with 13 assists and 10 digs
LEADERS – COLBY-SAWYER:
- Katie Mollberg delivered 11 kills with a .476 attack percentage and eight digs
- Ameesah Cotton boasted 10 ills in 15 bids with a .600 attack rate and five solo blocks
- Brooke Patnode dealt 36 assists with 13 digs
- Audra Fontes notched 19 digs
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the win Saint Joseph's improves to 4-4 all-time versus Colby-Sawyer College and has now defeated the Chargers in three-consecutive meetings dating back to the 2019 season.
