1977 Baseball Team

The 1977 Saint Joseph's Baseball team captured the first conference championship in SJC Athletics history. The Monks posted a 12-2 district record and went 6-0 in Western Maine Athletic Conference play that year en route to winning the WMAC Tournament. Seven players from the 1977 club collected All-Conference honors, two were named All-NAIA District 5, and Head Coach John Monahan received three Coach of the Year awards following the season. In the early years of varsity athletics at Saint Joseph's, the 1977 team overcame the hurdles of not having their own field, for games or practices, and went on to lay the foundation for future successes of all the SJC athletic programs.
