Johnson and Wales University (24-16, 11-3), 6-4, behind solid
pitching performances from starter FY Mason
Roberge (Franklin, NH) and reliever FY
Chris Dion (Lawrence, MA).
Roberge picked up his fifth win of the season and
Dion collected his first career save in the
win.
SR Luke Enman (Milan, NH) and SR
Dustin Spiller (Gorham, ME) both
notched two hits in the game and JR Wade
Oliver (Owls Head, ME) hit a towering solo home
run in the 8th inning to help St. Joe's clinch the GNAC Semifinal
win.
For the Wildcats, JR Matt Newsome (Providence, RI) registered two
hits and JR Eric Rapuano (Clinton, CT) recorded two hits and two
RBI's. Starting pitcher JR Jonathan Melendez (Providence, RI) takes
the loss on the mound for JWU.
The Monks advance to the GNAC Championship game which will be
played on Sunday April 27th at 1:00 PM at Holman Stadium in Nashua,
NH against Suffolk University. Game two will be played at 4:00 if
necessary.
