Mike came to Saint Joseph's College from Gardiner, Maine where
he played for Jim Palmer.
A versatile player, Mike was both a standout on the mound and in
the infield. During his senior year Mike was the Gardiner baseball
MVP, an All-Conference selection, and an All-State Honorable
Mention pick. Mike helped bring his American Legion team to the
state tournament in 06.
As a freshman at Saint Joseph's in '07 Mike played a dual role -
coming off the bench to play the infield Mike hit .370 and did not
make an error. As a pitcher Mike's 2-2 record and 4.50 era was not
indicative of his performance as he pitched some fine games against
some tough opponents. In 2008 Mike once again played a dual role
for Coach Sanborn - providing valuable innings on the mound and in
the infield. In his junior year it looks like Mike will concentrate
on infield play and could vie for a starting job.
Mike is the son of Doug and Bobbi-Jo Burdin of Gardiner, Maine.
