Gerry arrives at Saint Joseph's College after playing his high school baseball for Mark Caulfield at Millis High School in Millis, Massachusetts. As a junior in high school Gerry was named the Millis High School Clutch Player of the Year and was a Tri-Valley League All-Star. As a senior Howley was again a Tri-Valley All-Star and was selected as his team's Most Valuable Player. Gerry also had a great year for his American Legion baseball team as he was selected as the 2008 Medfield Legion MVP.

The Saint Joseph's College coaching staff looks for Gerry to play a key role as a left-handed pitcher out of the bull pen in 2009.

Gerry is the son of Vincent and Charlene Howley of Millis, Massachusetts.
