Monks Ranked Sixth in NEIBA Poll

STANDISH, Maine – The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) has released the fifth New England Region poll of the season and Saint Joseph's College is tied for sixth, with Endicott College, with 15 points.

Saint Joseph's, 22-12 overall and 12-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play this season, has won 16 of the last 18 games and kicked off the month of April with 13 consecutive victories, a win streak that is tied for the second-longest in team history.

Led by 23rd-year Head Coach Will Sanborn '86, the Monks currently have the most wins with one of the toughest schedules in the region. Saint Joseph's has defeated three of the teams in the top eight, with victories over Southern Maine (#3), Wheaton College (#4) and Endicott College (#6T).

Saint Joseph's has earned the top seed in the GNAC Tournament, which begins later today with a single-elimination play-in round featuring the 3-6 seeds. The Monks begin postseason play Thursday, hosting the winner of the #4 Lasell College/#5 Rivier University play-in, at 4:00 PM.

The Monks enter the postseason having won five-consecutive GNAC titles with nine conference crowns and eight NCAA Tournament appearances over the last 10 years overall.
