STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior outfielder Jared Gagne (Dover, N.H.) has been tabbed as the GNAC Baseball Player of the Week.
Gagne slashed .500/.593/.818 in a 7-0 week for the Monks, going 11-for-22 with eight runs, three doubles, two triples, seven RBI and nine stolen bases (10 attempts). The senior outfielder registered at least one hit in each game, including three multiple-hit performances during the undefeated week.
Through 26 games this season Gagne is hitting .416 (37-89) with 33 runs, five doubles, four triples, 24 stolen bases, and 16 RBI and is slugging .562 with a .476 OBP. In 129 career games, the 2018 First Team All-Conference selection is hitting .373 (116-311) with 97 runs, 16 doubles, 10 triples, a home run, 59 stolen bases, and 54 RBI.
He currently leads the conference in triples and runs and ranks second in stolen bases, third in hits (37), and fourth in batting average.
For Gagne, the GNAC weekly accolade is the second of his career and first since April 9th, 2018.
Saint Joseph's (20-6, 6-2 GNAC) is scheduled to play at Endicott College this afternoon at 3:00 PM.
