Three Men's Lacrosse Players Earn GNAC All-Conference

STANDISH, Maine – The 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Lacrosse postseason accolades have been released and three Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.

Junior LSM Eli Arsenault (Saco, Maine) earned First Team All-GNAC honors, sophomore attack Timothy Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.) has claimed Third Team mention, and freshman defender Anthony Samiotes (Hampstead, N.H.) is listed on the All-GNAC Third Team.

Arsenault collects First Team All-Conference honors after registering five goals and five assists for 10 total points with 72 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in 17 games this spring. He led the Monks in ground balls and finished the year second on the team in caused turnovers.

Goodfellow earns his first All-Conference nod after scoring 42 goals with 18 assists for 60 total points while picking up 50 ground balls during his first full collegiate campaign. The sophomore attacker paced the Royal Blue in goals and points and is second on the team in assists and third in ground balls.

Samiotes also claims Third Team honors after logging 53 ground balls with 25 caused turnovers in 18 games – including 16 starts – as a freshman defender. He led the team in caused turnovers and ranked second on the squad in ground balls.

Saint Joseph's closed out the 2022 season with a 5-13 overall record and a 3-7 mark in conference play en route to securing the #8 seed in the GNAC Tournament. Playing at top-seeded Norwich University in the first round of the tourney, the Monks nearly pulled off a monumental upset by taking a 12-10 lead into the fourth quarter, but the eventual GNAC champion Cadets staved off early elimination with four unanswered goals in the final frame to defeat St. Joe's by a 14-12 tally.
