Michaud Nabs First GNAC Weekly Award of Career

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College graduate attack Xavier Michaud (Wales, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Michaud potted nine goals with two assists for 11 total points while picking up six ground balls in a pair of conference victories last week. The grad attack netted five goals with an assist in a 14-9 triumph over Dean College on Tuesday and added four goals and an assist in a 21-8 win over Regis College on Friday.

Surprisingly, the GNAC weekly honor is the first of Michaud's college career.

So far this spring Michaud has s cored 47 goals – including nine man-up markers - with six assists and 20 ground balls in 14 games. For his career, he has netted 128 goals and 34 assists for 162 points in 61 contests and ranks second in program history in goals and fifth in points.

Michaud currently leads the GNAC in man-up goals and ranks third in goals, fourth in shots on goal (70), eighth in shots (101), and ninth in total points (47).

Saint Joseph's (7-7, 4-3 GNAC) will play at Anna Maria College on Wednesday in a GNAC contest set to start at 5:00 PM.
