Hopkins Picked as GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman attack Tiger Hopkins (Leeds, Maine) has been named as the GNAC Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.

Hopkins enjoyed another spectacular week with eight goals and six assists totaling 14 points in a pair of GNAC victories. The freshman delivered a pair of goals and three assists in the Monks' first-ever win (13-10) over Lasell on Tuesday and added six goals and three assists in a 23-9 victory at Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Through 11 games this spring, Hopkins has tallied 23 goals and 28 assists for 51 total points with 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers. He currently ranks second on the team in goals, assists, and points.

The weekly conference accolade is the first of his college career.

Saint Joseph's will play at Rivier University tonight in a key GNAC matchup set to start at 7:00 PM.
