STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has
announced its honorees for the week ending October 19th and
Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) has
been named as the GNAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the
third time this season.
Pike made 11 saves and allowed three goals in a 2-1 week for the
Monks and posted his fifth shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory
over GNAC foe Suffolk University on October 19th.
As of October 20th, Pike is tied for the league lead in shutouts
(5) and ranks second in the conference in goals against average
(0.90) and save percentage (.843). His 75 saves is the
third-highest total by a GNAC keeper this season.
Saint Joseph's (8-4-3, 5-2-1 GNAC) currently stands in third place
in the conference and has three regular season games remaining,
including one GNAC match against Rivier College (0-14, 0-6 GNAC) on
Saturday, October 25th at 1:00 PM in Nashua, NH.
Next up for the Monks is a trip to Framingham, MA on Thursday,
October 23rd to face off against Framingham State (11-2-1, 4-0-1
MASCAC) at 3:00 PM.
The final game of the regular season is a home contest against
Becker College on October 26th at 12:30 PM.
