WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Saint Joseph's College (10-3-3, 10-2-1 GNAC) and reigning GNAC Champion University of Saint Joseph (11-1-3, 9-1-3 GNAC) battled to a scoreless draw in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer contest on Saturday afternoon.
TEAM STATS:
USJ held the lead in shots (18-13) while SJC registered the advantage in shots on goal (4-3) and corner kicks (7-3) in the scoreless stalemate.
THE KEEPERS:
SJC junior Liam Foley (Middleton, Mass.) turned away all three shots he faced while Blue Jays netminder Jose Miguel Garcia Martin made four saves in the conference contest.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the result, Saint Joseph's is now 5-1-1 in the history of the series with University of Saint Joseph, the same team that ended the Monks' 2022 campaign with an upset 2-0 GNAC semifinal triumph in Standish last fall.
