ON THIS DATE: Monks and Cadets Play to Scoreless Stalemate

On September 16th, 2017 the SJC men's soccer team dueled Norwich University to a 0-0 stalemate in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at the SJC Athletics Complex.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • With seven saves in the goose-egg effort, junior goalkeeper Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) broke the program's shutout record; up to that point in his career Mullen had tallied 20 shutouts in 33 collegiate starts
  • Mullen broke the record previously held by Will Pike '11 – an assistant coach on staff at the time – who notched 19 blank sheets in two seasons for the Monks
  • This game extended the scoreless streak between the Monks and Cadets to 354 minutes, which included a span of three contests and a 0-0 score in the 2016 GNAC Championship, which was played on SJC's Westerlea Way Field (11/5/16) and won by the Monks in PK's
  • All Saint Joseph's programs have combined to post a 23-15-1 (.590) record on this date
