ON THIS DATE - Monks Advance to GNAC Semi's with 1-0 Win

On November 1st, 2008 the Saint Joseph's College men's soccer team defeated Johnson & Wales University, 1-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament Quarterfinal at Westerlea Way Field. THe tourney triumph was the first GNAC postseason victory in team history.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Senior Doug MacCallum '09 (Hingham, MA) scored his 12th tally of the season off a setup by Paul Robins '11 (Cornwall, England) at the 65:31 mark
  • Junior goalkeeper Will Pike (Gorham, Maine) made four saves in what was his seventh shutout of the season
  • The Monks held the 7-6 edge in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks in the victory
