ON THIS DATE - Saint Joseph’s Claims 2011 GNAC Men’s Soccer Championship

On November 5th, 2011 second-seeded Saint Joseph's defeated #4 Norwich University, 4-1, in the 2011 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Championship at Westerlea Way Field.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Sophomore Zach Johnson (Westbrook, Maine), senior Mike Sanfilippo (Walpole, Mass.), sophomore Dan McIntyre (Sparta, N.J.), and freshman Ali Hersi (Lewiston, Maine) all scored in the SJC victory
  • Johnson broke the Monks' single-season goals record with his 17th of the year
  • SJC keeper Kenny Grade '14 (Hampton, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) made five saves in the victory
  • The Monks held the advantage in shots (22-15) and corner kicks (5-3)
