On November 10th, 2018 the Saint Joseph's College men's soccer team defeated Middlebury College, 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA DIII Men's Soccer Tournament at Gooding Field on the campus of Amherst College.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Sophomore Quinn Hewitt (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) scored the game-winner in the 85th minute off a long free kick from senior Dalton Gaumer (Corona, Calif.)
- The Monks, ranked #5/8 in the nation, struck first at the 35:50 mark, when junior Noah Robinson (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) netted his ninth goal of the season off a throw-in by Jackson Taylor (Gorham, Maine) and a short header pass from Hewitt
- Senior keeper Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) made seven stops in the victory, including several diving bids
- The Panthers held leads in shots (15-7), shots on goal (8-4), and corner kicks (5-2) in the loss.
