Monks Outlast Blazers, 1-0

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (9-1-2, 8-0-0 GNAC) edged Elms College (5-10-0, 4-8-0 GNAC), 1-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer action on Wednesday night.

Senior forward Kuma Onyejose (East Greenwich, R.I.) netted the game's only goal at the 6:51 mark and graduate student goalkeeper David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) made five saves to notch his fourth shutout of the year and help the Monks remain undefeated in conference play.

Elms netminder Collin Liedke turned away seven of the eight shots he faced in the losing effort.

The Monks held considerable advantages in shots (19-6), shots on goal (9-5), and corner kicks (12-1) on the evening. The Blazers were issued six yellow cards and one red card in the setback.

Saint Joseph's will play at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday in a GNAC matchup scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM.
