Women Place Sixth at Bowdoin College

BRUNSWICK, ME – Saint Joseph's placed sixth with three team points in the Bowdoin College Five-Way Indoor Track & Field Meet on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomores Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) and Doe Leckie (Naples, Maine) highlighted the day with sixth-place finishes in the 600 meter run (1:44.75) and 60 meter hurdles (10.01) events, respectively, while freshman Deanna Barry (Cumberland, Maine) finished seventh in the pole vault (2.15m).

Junior Sarah Bakun (Clinton, Mass.) placed ninth in the 400 meter dash (1:20.44) and sophomore Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) finished ninth in the 3000 meter run (11:57.40) for Saint Joseph's.

Bowdoin won the event with 180 team points and Southern Maine finished as the runner-up with 149 points. Colby College (125), Connecticut College (66) and WPI (55) also competed in the invitational.

Saint Joseph's returns to action next Saturday when the team participates in the Bates College Invitational in Lewiston, Maine at 12:00 PM.
