St. Joe's Host Monks Track & Field Invitational

STANDISH, MAINE – The Saint Joseph's College Men's and Women's Track teams competed in their first home contest spanning over the last two days, kicking off their three-weekend run of home meets this season. In this scored event, for the women, Endicott took the lead with 166 points followed by Husson (117.75 points) and Colby (117 points). On the men's side, Thomas College finished on top with 120 points, Colby with 105 points, and Saint Joe's finishing close behind with 100 points. 

The Monks came to compete during this two-day event, crushing multiple school records. To start, Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) took down the heptathlon record to rank fourth in the East Region and 30th in the Nation for the event. Kim Moulton tossed the hammer to a new record of 36.23m.  Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) leaped for a high jump school record (1.95m) surpassing his previously held record of 1.94m. Rookie Abdirizak Abukar etched his name in the record books again with a 200-meter record clocking in at 22.51. Sophmore Dylan Dickey improved his previously held record in the Javelin with a throw of 53.45m. Both men's relay teams clocked in for new set records in the 4x100 (44.58) and 4x400 (3:34). 

 

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) placed second in the Heptathlon scoring 3526 points for the event
  • Senior Kimberly Moulton (Franklin, Mass.) placed fourth overall with her record-breaking throw of 36.23m in the hammer throw, 29th in the Shot Put (8.49m) and 23rd in Discus (26.34m)
  • Junior Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) placed eighth in the Hammer Throw with a 32.79m throw and 13th in the Discus Throw with a toss of 29.24m
  • Freshman Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) placed ninth overall in the 100-meter Hurdles clocking in at 18.57 and finished 21st in the 100-meter dash with a 14.76 effort.

 

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Senior Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) tied for first in the High Jump with his jump of 1.95m, placed seventh in the Triple Jump (11.46m) and eighth in the Long Jump leaping for 5.93m
  • Senior Devin Abbott (South Berwick, Maine) doubled in the 10,000-meter run (36:03) and 5000 meter-run (16:44) placing first and fifth respectively
  • Sophomore Dylan Dickey (Laconia, N.H.) placed first overall in the Javelin with a program record-breaking throw of 53.45m. Dickey also placed 11th overall in the discus throw with a 32.53m throw
  • Freshman Noah Batoosingh (Scarborough, Maine) placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.66) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (23.43)
  • Grad Student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) placed fourth overall in the 1500-meter with a 4;19 finish and eleventh in the 800-meter run clocking in at 2:10.33
  • Freshman Alexey Seredin placed seventh in his college debut of the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:42. Seredin also placed second in the 10,000-meter run clocking in at 36:32
  • Sophomore Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.) placed sixth in the Long Jump with a 6.13 mark, ninth in the 200-meter dash (23.85), and tenth in the 100-meter dash (11.99) 
  • Freshman Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) placed first in 200-meter Dash with a mark of 22.51
  • Junior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) placed second overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.68
  • Freshman John McManus (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed eighth in the 400-meter run in his event debut (54.38)
  • Freshman Seth Quinney (Northwood, N.H.) finished ninth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 29.26m, 19th in the Discus Throw (27.87m), and 26th overall in the Shot Put (8.82m) 
  • Ricker, Farr, Batoosingh, and Tardif clocked in a 44.58 4x100-meter relay for second place and a new program record
  • Farr, Ricker, Carmosino, and Abukar paced out a 3:34.18 record-setting 4x400 performance for first place
