Inaugural Indoor Track & Field Season Ends at ECAC's

STANDISH, ME – Senior Jack LaFreniere (Alton, N.H.) and sophomore Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) capped the 2012-13 indoor track and field season for Saint Joseph's with appearances in the 2013 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York City last weekend.

LaFreniere qualified to participate in the 400-Meter dash and placed 20th with a 51.09 effort and Dostie raced to an 18th-place finish with a 3:06.82 time in the 1000-Meter run.

Their appearance in the regional championship closes out the Monks' inaugural season as an NCAA DIII varsity program. The campaign featured many memorable moments, including LaFreniere claiming State Championships in the 200-Meter dash and 400-Meter dash events and Dostie topping the field in the 1000-Meter run at the State Championship in early-February.

The outdoor season is right around the corner, as Saint Joseph's participates in the Jerry Gravel Classic at Westfield State University on Saturday, March 23rd.
