Women Finish Sixth at State Indoor Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed in the 2016 Maine State Indoor Track & Field Championship at Bowdoin College on Friday evening. The Monks finished in sixth place with six total points in the event.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Freshman Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) highlighted the day by breaking the program records in the 60-Meter (8.48) and 200-Meter (28.76) events with a 14th-place finish in the prelims in the former and a 16th-place effort in the finals in the latter
  • Freshman Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) placed sixth in the 600-Meter (1:49.39)
  • Junior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) finished ninth in the 600-Meter (1:54.92)
  • Freshman Meghan Burke (Falmouth, Maine) was 15th in the shot put (9.07m) and 25th in the 200-Meter (32.64)
  • Sophomore Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) was 20th in the 60-Meter (9.41) prelims and finished 26th in the 200-Meter (33.20)
  • Freshman Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine), Harnden, Burke and Smith raced to a sixth-place finish in the 4x200-Meter relay (2:02.58)

Saint Joseph's College will participate in the Boston University Valentine Invitational next Saturday.
