Monks Compete at Bowdoin College Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Saint Joseph's College competed in the Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday with the women placing fifth with 18 points and the men finishing seventh with seven points.

On the women's side, freshman Breeann Sautter (Lisbon, Maine) broke the 400-Meter Dash record, sophomore Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) set a new 400-Meter Hurdles mark, freshman Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine) broke her own record in the 100-Meter Hurdles, and sophomore Makayla Norcross (Auburn, Maine) bested her Triple Jump record.

On the men's side, sophomore Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) broke his Hammer Throw record yet again with a 39.30m effort.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Freshman Breeann Sautter (Lisbon, Maine) placed second in the 400-Meter Dash (1:07.27) and ninth in the 200-Meter Dash (29.41)
  • Freshman Lillian Bisset (Jefferson, Maine) finished third in the 100-Meter Hurdles (17.19) and seventh in the 200-Meter Dash (28.60)
  • Sophomore Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) placed third in the 400-Meter Dash (1:10.86) and 11th in the 200-Meter Dash (29.46)
  • Sophomore Makayla Norcross (Auburn, Maine) was third in the Triple Jump (10.16m) and 14th in the Long Jump (4.16m)
  • Sophomore Kelsey Barrett (Gardiner, Maine) finished fourth in the 400-Meter Hurdles (1:18.73) and sixth in the 100-Meter Hurdles (18.08)
  • Sophomore Sarah Curtin (Strafford, N.H.) finished sixth in the 800-Meter Run (2:31.97)
  • Freshman Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine) placed seventh in the 1500-Meter Run (5:30.47)
  • Senior Marisa Lundy (Merrimac, Mass.) was eighth in the 800-Meter Run (2:35.96)
  • Sophomore Michaela Dann (Hiram, Maine) placed eighth in the Shot Put (6.82m)
  • Junior Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) placed 10th in the 100-Meter Dash (14.84) and 15th in the 200-Meter Dash (31.23)
  • Bisset, Smith, Norcross, and Barrett finished third in the 4x100-Meter Relay (55.49)

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Freshman Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) was third in the 400-Meter Dash (54.52) and sixth in the 200-Meter Dash (24.53)
  • Sophomore Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) placed fourth in the Hammer Throw (39.30m) and fifth in the Discus Throw (30.54m)
  • Sophomore Alex Gutierrez (York, Maine) was fifth in the Hammer Throw (28.65m) and ninth in the Shot Put (8.35m) and Discus Throw (22.79m) events
  • Freshman Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) was sixth in the 3000-Meter Steeplechase (12:14.0)
  • Sophomore Kevin Cotter (Sandwich, Mass.) placed sixth in the Hammer Throw (27.82m) and eighth in the Shot Put (9.13m)
  • Sophomore Harrison DeCotis (North Scituate, R.I.) finished seventh in the Discus Throw (28.70m) and Hammer Throw (26.33m) events and 10th in the Shot Put (8.24m)
  • Freshman David Tuttle (Brunswick, Maine) was ninth in the Hammer Throw (22.60m) and 11th in the Shot Put (6.91m)
  • Sophomore Joshua Hunter (Lawrence, Mass.) finished 10th in the 400-Meter Dash (1:06.63) and 16th in the 200-Meter Dash (28.57)
  • Junior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) placed 12th in the 800-Meter Run (2:16.29) and 13th in the 1500-Meter Run (4:32.14)
  • Freshman Kevin McWilliams (New Milford, Conn.) was 13th in the 800-Meter Run (2:17.13) and 14th in the 1500-Meter Run (4:45.98)
  • Freshman Ben Plante (Biddeford, Maine) finished 17th in the 800-Meter Run (2:24.28)
