Monks Cap Season at NCAA Regionals

STANDISH, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College indoor track & field teams competed in the 2020 NCAA New England Regional Championships over the weekend. The men participated at Springfield College while the women trekked to Middlebury college for the regional event.

One team record fell in the final indoor meets of the season, as the men broke the Monks' 4x400-Meter Relay. 

MEN – AT SPRINGFIELD:

  •  Ricky Reyes (Worcester, Mass.), Lance Santeusanio III (North Berwick, Maine), Michael Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.), and Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) placed 15th in the Distance Medley Relay with an 11:14.69 time.

  • Hendricks also competed in the men's Mile placing 21st with a 4:35.21 effort.

  • Freshman Simon Vinci (Peabody, Mass.) placed 18th in the shot put to end his indoor season throwing 13.18m (43'10.5") 

  • Tyler Nadeau, Alex Fitzgerald (Lebanon, Maine), Reyes, and Mason shattered the 4x400-Meter Relay with a time of 3:35.04 to place 17th overall. 

WOMEN – AT MIDDLEBURY:

  • Freshman Kelsey Kennedy (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) ran her fourth 800 of the year to finish in 2:27.13 placing 21st overall.

  • Sophomore Samantha VanDeMoere (Thornton, N.H.) ran a 2:34.59 effort to place 31st. 

  • VanDeMoere, Kennedy, Kaylee Todisco (Wilmington, Mass.), and Emily Colson (Casco, Maine) finished with a 4:32.27 in the 4x400-Meter relay placing 19th.
