Track & Field Participates in Pride Invitational

WESTON, MA – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's outdoor track & field program competed in the Pride Invitational at Regis College on Sunday.

Sophomore Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) highlighted the day when she won the 3000 meter run by nearly 14 seconds with an 11:36.68 effort. The first-year runner also placed 10th in the javelin throw (21.99m) in the event.

Sophomore Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) finished as the runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase (12:18.50) while sophomore Hailey Frisbee (Kittery Point, Maine) was sixth in the javelin throw (28.14m) and 10th in the discus throw (23.55) and senior Ashley Condon (Sumner, Maine) finished 13th in the 1500 meter run (6:09.57).

Sophomore Audrey Curry (Perry, Maine) was 14th in the 800 meter run (2:49.22), junior Sarah Bakun (Clinton, Mass.) placed 15th in the javelin throw (13.64m) and 24th in the 200 meter dash (32.32), freshman Lauren Smith (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished 20th in the 800 meter run (3:07.49) and first-year Cristina Cuscuna (Reading, Mass.) placed 21st in the 800 meter run (3:21.72).

The quartet of Eaton, Curry, Smith and Frisbee combined to place fifth in the 4x400 meter relay (4:44.85)

On the men's side, junior Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, Maine) finished third in the 400 meter dash (52.02), freshman Andrew Caron (Gardiner, Maine) finished fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:55.29) and first-year Asad Dahia (Portland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) was fifth in the high jump (1.70m) and seventh in the long jump (5.74m) in the annual event.

Freshman Sam Dunay (Groton, Conn.) was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:03.18) and 11th in the long jump (5.20m) and freshman Billy Brooks (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) placed eighth in the long jump (5.56m) and 13th in the 200 meter dash (23.88) while freshman Mark McCarraher (Franklin, Mass.) and sophomore Jeff Merrill (Fitchburg, Mass.) recorded 10th-place efforts in the 400 meter dash (56.42) and javelin throw (38.22m) events, respectively.

Freshman Ralph Houanche (Portland, Maine) finished 11th in the 400 meter dash (59.67), first-year Connor Dufour (Augusta, Maine) was 14th in the 800 meter run (2:06.56) and freshman Cole Milazzo (Richmond, Vt.) placed 21st in the 800 meter run (2:17.78) to round out the group of Saint Joseph's participants.
