Smith Selected as GNAC Athlete of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College junior Alysha Smith (Jaffrey, N.H.) has been selected as the GNAC Corvias Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Smith claims the first weekly honor of her career after posting a pair of first-place finishes at the Thomas College Invitational on Saturday. The senior sprinter won the 100-meter dash with a 13.42 time and posted a 28.14 effort to top the field in the 200-meter dash. Smith also ran a leg for the Monks' top-finishing 4x100-meter relay team, which notched a 53.93 time.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin College this Saturday.
