Goff, Young, & Abbott Collect GNAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and three Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field athletes have earned honors.

For their performances at Bridgewater State University on Saturday, senior Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) has been named as the GNAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) is the March 27th GNAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, and freshman Alexia Young (Rochester, N.H.) has garnered GNAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week acclaim.

Goff placed fifth in the 100-Meter Hurdles (17.30), sixth in the Long Jump (4.72m), and eighth in the High Jump (1.45m) at Bridgewater State on Saturday.

Making her outdoor debut, Young placed 10th overall in the 400-meter dash (1:05.41) at Bridgewater State.

Abbott won the High Jump with a New England qualifying jump of 1.90m, placed fifth in the Triple Jump (11.59m), and 12th in the Long Jump (5.61m) in the Monks' first outdoor meet of the 2023 season.

Saint Joseph's returns to action on Saturday, April 8th when the team travels to Fitchburg State University to compete in the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational.
