Chris came to St. Joe’s from Spaulding High School in
Rochester, NH where he played under Head Coach Jerry Lachance. The
hard-nosed infielder had an excellent senior season and was
rewarded by being named to the All-State Team and the Fosters Dream
Team. Chris hit .458 in his final high school season and received
the Golden Bat Award for posting the highest batting average in the
New Hampshire Class L division.
As a freshman at St. Joe’s Chris played well in a reserve
role, hitting.273 and improving his defensive play. With the
graduation of two fine infielders in 2008, Chris will play a much
bigger role in 2009, with the possibility of starting in one of the
middle infield spots. Look for this scrappy ballplayer to help
solidify the Monks infield and provide an offensive spark with his
ability to handle the bat.
Chris is the son of Deborah and Richard Campbell of East Rochester,
New Hampshire.
