Brewster, MA - The Saint Joseph's College Golf team
landed in 30th place out of 42 teams at the 73rd Annual New England
Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship held 10/22-23. The
Monks ended the two day event with a team score of 663, 87 over
par. Salem State College was the top finishing D III team with a
team score of 619 and finished 4th overall.
SR Francois Renaud (E. Middlebury, VT) lead all
St. Joe's golfers with a two-day score of 162 (78/84) and finished
tied for 86th overall out of 212. SR Chris Deroche
(Portland, ME) put up a score of 163 (76/87) for the Monks and
finished in 94th place.
The New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) has been in existence since 1934 and includes 48 member colleges and universities in New Engand and is considered to be the oldest and largest college golf tournament. It is unique in that Divisions I, II and III compete together.
The Saint Joseph's College Golf squad hits the links this Friday and Saturday, 10/26-27, in the GNAC Championships which are held in N. Kingstown, RI.
