CASCO, Maine – Saint Joseph's College finished in a tie for fourth with a 323 team card in the 20th Annual John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament at the Point Sebago Golf Resort on Wednesday afternoon.
The yearly tournament hosted by St. Joe's is named in memory of John Queenan, a 2003 graduate of Bow High School who died tragically in an automobile accident just prior to the beginning of his freshman year as a student-athlete at Saint Joseph's. John's parents – Joann and John Queenan – were in attendance at today's tournament and spoke with the teams before the annual event kicked off.
Gordon College paced the eight-team field with a 314 score, eight strokes better than runners-up Husson University and University of New England. Saint Joseph's and Thomas College tied for fourth with a 323 card while University of Southern Maine (327), Maine Maritime Academy (338), and University of Maine-Farmington (355) rounded out this year's list of competing teams.
Thomas College's Dylan Cunningham earned Medalist honors with an even-par 72 score, one stroke ahead of former SJC standout Trevor Flanagan '23, who is competing this fall as a grad student for the University of New England.
