Caron Collects Third GNAC Rookie Honor

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College freshman Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) has been chosen as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golf Rookie of the Week for the third time this fall.

In the Monks' only action of the week, Caron finished in a tie for medalist accolades in the Southern Maine Fall Classic with a 144 (70-74) card, but lost out on the match-of-card tiebreaker and was forced to settle for runner-up honors. Caron's 36-hole score in the event ranks as the second-lowest posted by an SJC golfer over the last 15 years and best since 2001.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the GNAC Championship this Saturday and Sunday at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island.
