Batchelder Chosen as GNAC Golfer of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades of the 2016-17 academic year have been released and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Adam Batchelder (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) has been selected as the GNAC Corvais Golfer of the Week.

Batchelder earns his first conference weekly honor after posting a career-best two-over-par 73 with a runner-up finish in a tri-match with University of Southern Maine and Maine-Farmington at the Gorham Country Club on Thursday afternoon.

The sophomore standout is one of four current SJC golfers to claim a GNAC weekly award during their career, as senior Michael Caron (Gorham, Maine) and classmates Cam Letourneau (Hebron, Maine) and Adam Hachey (Winthrop, Maine) have earned multiple conference accolades.

Saint Joseph's, fresh off a John Queenan Memorial Championship, return to action this weekend with an appearance in the two-day Bowdoin College Invitational. Saturday's tee time is set for 9:30 AM.
