Five Monks Named to NEILA All-Academic Team

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Two hundred and ninety-nine student-athletes have been selected to the 2024 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Teams, announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon. Saint Joseph's Men's Lacrosse had five players recognized.

Xavier Michaud (Wales, Maine), Connor Bogdanski (Southington, Conn.), Scott Lynch (Gray, Maine), Devin Rheaume (Londonderry, N.H.), and Nate Girardin (Brunswick, Maine) have been named to the NEILA 2024 All-Academic Team.

Members of the teams are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career.
Babson College led all institutions with 14 student-athletes who qualified for the honor, while Harvard University saw 12 players earn All-Academic status.

Overall, 59 different colleges and universities were represented across all three divisions.
Fourteen schools from Division I made up the 88 All-Academic award winners, while 33 honorees represented six different schools in Division II, where Bentley University led the way with nine student-athletes.

Babson led Division III, followed by Williams College with 11 student-athletes honored. In total, 178 Division III players representing 39 different institutions made an appearance on this year's squads.
Nominees must have a senior or graduate student standing with no eligibility remaining or plans to use their eligibility in New England, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.
