Volleyball Picks up a Win on Day Two

Standish, ME - The Monks lost to Maine-Machias 3-0 on Saturday morning in the SJC Autumn Invitational, but won the consolation match-up against Maine-Presque Isle 3-1. Machias defeated Lyndon State 3-1 in the championship.

For the day, St. Joe's (2-2) had solid contributions from captains Brooke Perry (Biddeford, ME) (13 kills, 2 assists, 3 service aces and 6 digs) and Monique Lajoie (Nashua, NH) (11 kills, 26 assists, 13 service aces and 4 digs).

Two newcomers also had strong performances, Mary Hoyt (Rochester, NH) finished with 18 kills, 4 assists, 11 service aces, and 11 digs while Rachel Bassett (Narragansett, RI) added 13 kills, 1 assist, 5 service aces and 5 digs.

The Monks next play at Husson on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
