STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's volleyball team split a tri-match on Mike McDevitt Court at the Harold Alfond Center on Saturday. The Monks (7-13, 4-5 GNAC) opened with a 3-0 triumph over GNAC foe Elms College (3-16, 2-6 GNAC) and capped the day with a 3-1 loss at the hands of non-conference opponent Gallaudet University (21-3).

SJC def. Elms, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-15)

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in kills (44-23), attack percentage (.213 / .069), assists (43-22), service aces (7-1), digs (87), and blocks (6.5-2) in the GNAC victory.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Sophomore Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) notched eight kills, seven assists, three aces, and 29 digs
  • Sophomore Nadia Sixto (Chattanooga, Tenn.) posted eight kills and seven digs
  • Freshman Greta Mackintosh (Plymouth, Mass.) added seven kills, nine digs, and a pair of block assists
  • Junior Hanna Webster (Alvin, Texas) contributed six kills with a .417 attack rate and nine digs
  • Senior Kailyn Chamberlin (Milford, N.H.) delivered 20 assists with three kills and four digs
  • Senior Caitlin Quinn (Dover, N.H.) chipped in with 12 assists, two kills, and a pair of digs
  • Senior Abby Jerome (Barrington, N.H.) registered 17 digs and three service aces
  • Freshman Larisa Comolli (Nashua, N.H.) belted five kills with three total blocks

LEADERS – ELMS:

  • Samiyah Cabrera paced the Blazers with 10 kills and added six digs
  • Quiana Gibbs added five kills and 10 digs
  • Jaylen Holman tallied four kills, 12 assists, and 18 digs
  • Alyssa Moore notched 18 digs and six assists

Gallaudet def. SJC, 3-1 (25-14, 25-13, 16-25, 25-20)

TEAM STATS:

The Bison posted advantages in kills (41-35), attack percentage (.151 / .057), assists (40-33), aces (13-6), digs (75-74), and blocks (7-4) in the victory.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

  • Briones posted eight kills and 17 digs
  • Comolli added seven kills and three digs
  • Mackintosh chipped in with five kills, three digs, and two block assists
  • Sixto swatted five kills
  • Chamberlin delivered 14 assists, two kills, and eight digs
  • Jerome notched 21 digs and three service aces
  • Junior Allison McMullen (Jacksonville, Fla.) added 10 digs

LEADERS – GALLAUDET:

  • Natalie Clayberg recorded 11 kills and 10 digs
  • Cassidy Perry notched 11 kills
  • Jada Zarembka tallied seven kills, six digs, and seven total blocks
  • Ella Gamble boasted 34 assists, three aces, two kills, 13 digs, and two block assists
  • Nicole Hicks delivered 22 digs and two service aces
  • Adele Daniels registered five aces and 12 digs

NOTEWORTHY:

With the win over the Monks, Gallaudet Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren registered the 400th victory of his 18-year career.  He now has a 400-239 career record with nine conference championships over 18 seasons, all at Gallaudet.
