STANDISH, ME - Lady Monks freshman Samantha
Varrell (Portsmouth, NH) has been named to the
GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week.
Varrell recorded 30 assists, 10 digs and six aces in a 3-1 win over
Lesley University on September 16th and recorded six service aces
and dished out 20 assists in a 3-1 loss to University of New
England on September 18th. Against Pine Manor on September 20th
Varrell notched 25 assists and 14 digs.
Through 15 matches this season, Varrell leads Saint Joseph's in
assists (232), service aces (33) and digs (97).
The freshman setter received GNAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week on
September 9th.
Saint Joseph's (3-12, 0-3 GNAC) will travel to Farmington to square
off against in-state rival Maine-Farmington Wednesday evening at
7:00 PM.
